Police: Teen Beaned With Full Can Of Soda That Driver Mistook For Beer

QUINCY (CBS) - A Weymouth woman is facing assault charges, accused of throwing a full can of soda out a car window and hitting a teenager in the head with it. Two police officers saw the whole thing happen.

Quincy police say the two officers were in the area and witnessed the incident, which happened around 11 pm Wednesday night.

One of the officers arrested 20-year-old Cassandra Farrington, while the other attended to the victim.

Police say the 15-year-old victim was treated at the scene and expected to be okay.

Farrington, who was a passenger in the front seat, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The driver told police that she mistook the soda for an open can of beer and told Farrington to dispose of it.
