Special Needs Group From Worcester Hits Fenway For The Day

BOSTON (CBS) - A group of special needs kids from Worcester got a special treat Tuesday. They were one of the ten Little League 'challenger' teams that gets to spend a day a Fenway park.

It's part of a program sponsored by CVS Caremark's All Kids Can program.

They spend part of the day receiving batting instruction from the Red Sox hitting coach, Dave Magadan.

Magaden, who has been participating in this program for the past five years, says it's an awesome experience.

"Not that I take it for granted but, the day-to-day routine, I think you forget what an honor it is to come work here every day. You get reminded of that when you see the look on the kids faces and the parents faces too," he said.

After a hitting lesson, the kids even got the chance to bat a few balls right onto the field. A lot of them say it's an afternoon that they will not soon forget.
