Lawmaker Pushes To Legalize Sale Of Fireworks In Mass.

BEACON HILL (CBS) - A Massachusetts lawmaker is pushing to allow fireworks into the state.

They're already legal in New Hampshire and Rhode Island and State Rep. Richard Bastien wants to see the same
here in Massachusetts.

Rep. Bastien has filed a bill to legalize the sale of fireworks. Using them would still be illegal unless you get a permit from your city or town.

The State Fire Marshal, citing safety concerns, is one of the people has opposed the legislation.

The bill is currently before a House committee.
