BEACON HILL (CBS) – A Massachusetts lawmaker is pushing to allow fireworks into the state.

They’re already legal in New Hampshire and Rhode Island and State Rep. Richard Bastien wants to see the same
here in Massachusetts.

Rep. Bastien has filed a bill to legalize the sale of fireworks. Using them would still be illegal unless you get a permit from your city or town.

The State Fire Marshal, citing safety concerns, is one of the people has opposed the legislation.

The bill is currently before a House committee.

Why not, they end up here anyway. I already have neighbors celebrating and setting them off. People will bring them into the state illegally anyway, so why not make it legal.

They’ll approve the sale of fireworks but it will still be illegal to light them….lol

There is nobody that is going to fork over $25 to the state on another permit. I will continue to go to New Hampshire for all of my purchases. This state is corrupt and does not get it that people want to be left alone. Keep out of peoples wallets and let the people decide for themselves if fireworks are safe for them and their families.
