STERLING (CBS) – A man flying in a glider crashed into a tree on Thursday, but says he did it on purpose.

Timothy Greenwood said he’d never flown this plane before, and when he missed his landing at sterling airport, he decided the next safest thing to do was to crash into a tree.

He was stuck about 25 feet up after the crash, but managed to get himself out.

He was not seriously hurt.
