6-Year-Old Girl Dies After Crash On Mass Pike In Natick

NATICK  (AP) -- State police say a 6-year-old girl has died as a result of injuries suffered in a crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

The girl was a passenger in a vehicle that rolled over after leaving the eastbound lanes of the highway in Natick just before 5 p.m. on Thursday.

She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where she died.

A 5-year-old girl in the vehicle survived and was taken to a hospital.

Police say both girls were ejected. Their names were not released.

The car's driver was identified by police as 24-year-old Jennifer Ortiz of Framingham.

Police did not disclose the relationship between Ortiz and her passengers.

The accident remains under investigation.
