Monson Family Finds All 7 Cats Alive After Tornado
MONSON (AP) -- A Monson family whose home was destroyed by the tornadoes that struck the state on June 1 has found all seven of its cats alive.
Michael Roescher says all seven of his family's cats were inside their rented home when it collapsed, but the last one was recovered from the rubble on Sunday.

He tells The Republican that he's "thrilled" and "shocked" because he didn't think there was any way the cats could have survived the devastation.

All were in good physical shape, except for bruised paws from trying to dig out.

The 48-year-old Roescher, a master electrician who designs and installs commercial fire alarm systems, was working from home when the tornadoes struck, and took refuge in his basement. He said it was like being in a blender.
