One Win Away... No, Not The Bruins

Vancouver, BC (CBS) - It's not the words you want to see this weekend unless you're talking about your Boston Bruins. We're not.

After an impressive 1-0 Game 5 Vancouver victory here on Friday night, the Canucks are in the driver's seat. A victory in Game Six and the Stanley Cup is theirs.

In fact, teams that go up 3-2 in the Stanley Cup Finals......are 27-7 when it comes to winning the Cup.

However, don't count out these Boston Bruins.

I've written this over and over and over... and it's true. These Bruins overcome the ghosts of their past. 19-whatever doesn't matter and last year doesn't matter. This Bruins team simply finds a way to win. Period.

Game 5 clearly belonged to Vancouver. Give them credit. Roberto Luongo bounced back with a 31 save night. The Canucks out-hit the Bruins 47-27. Alex Edler had 10 of his own. The Bruins got outworked. The Canucks much were quicker to the puck.

But now we go back to Boston. Everything changes although no one seems to know why. The Bruins have just two goals... two goals... in 3 losses here in Vancouver. In Boston, the B's have 12 goals and 2 wins. Go figure.

Laughable how I hear some commentators up here saying, "Vancouver has the Bruins right where they want them as they head back to Boston!". How can you say that? You can't do that in this series.

Get ready for Game 6. And I will be shocked if we're not back here next Wednesday night for a winner-takes-it-all Seventh and deciding game.

Awesome series so far. Let's hope it continues well into next week.
