The Fresh Grocer: Grabbing Green Grapes

Crisp, sweet and refreshing, green grapes make a great summertime snack--but how do you know you're picking the freshest bunch?

Fresh Grocer Tony Tantillo explains that grape selection is one area where going green may not be your best bet.

It's not the greenest grapes that are the ripest, but the ones with a slight yellow or amber hue.

Watch The Fresh Grocer:

Avoid grassy-colored green grapes, but make sure the stems are green and the fruit is plump and fully developed.

Fresh grapes can be stored for about seven to ten days, but don't forget to keep them in the fridge.

Use grapes to sweeten up savory chicken or tuna salads, or try freezing them for a nutritious kids' snack.

You can watch Tony weekdays at noon on WBZ-TV.
