BOSTON (AP) – A week after deadly tornadoes ripped through their town, seniors at Monson High School are preparing for their graduation.
Gov. Deval Patrick is scheduled to offer remarks at the Wednesday evening ceremony. The graduation comes exactly a week after tornadoes ravaged communities in the western part of the state.
Monson was one of the hardest hit towns.

Earlier in the evening, Patrick is planning to attend an interfaith prayer service at the Christ Church Cathedral in Springfield.
Three tornadoes struck the area June 1, killing three people and injuring hundreds.

On Tuesday, state officials said homeowners have filed $90 million in insurance claims for damage caused by the tornadoes.
Officials said more than 200 homes were destroyed.
