One Last Thing: Marshfield Students Ride In PMC For Teacher Fighting Cancer
MARSHFIELD (CBS) - Sunday in Hingham, a group of PMC riders will get set to put in some serious miles for a good cause.
Many are from Martinson Elementary School in Marshfield and they are riding for a friend, and a beloved teacher.
In April, Lynette Irons left her third grade class to undergo chemo.
Her students were heartbroken. They put together lemonade stands and sold cancer awareness bracelets to help.
WBZ-TV's Jonathan Elias reports.
So far they've raised nearly $7,000
In addition, nearly 150 kids and friends have entered the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, a bike ride to raise money and awareness.
Joanie Pozerksi wrote to tell me about this and she said this started with just a few friends, and has blossomed into a community event.
Like I said, Ms. Irons is a beloved teacher.
Good luck to all riding in this event.
