Manchester By The Sea Beach Closed To Swimmers Over High Bacteria Levels
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA (CBS) - The town of Manchester By The Sea has closed one of its beaches to swimming because over high levels of bacteria in the water.
Health officials announced the West Manchester beach failed weekly tests to measure bacteria.
This is believed to be the first beach in the state of Massachusetts that has been closed to swimming this summer because of contamination concerns.
The town says it will continue to test the water and will allow people to start swimming again once the bacteria has cleared up.
