BOSTON (CBS) –  One thing fans do not want to see is their beloved Bruins hitting the golf course anytime soon.

Their logo is another story.

The grounds crew at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy has changed out its usual pin flags on the course’s 27 championship holes to instead proudly fly the black and gold “Spoked B” of the Boston Bruins.

“We’re big hockey fans here,” said club president Walter Hannon, who admitted to catching Stanley Cup fever after seeing the Zakim Bridge lit up gold, in addition to the many statues around Boston sporting Bruins gear.

“Of course, we’re partial to any sport that requires using a stick to move a hard small object around while avoiding hazards – be they bunkers or bites,” he said, taking a shot at Canucks forward Alex Burrows who bit Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron in Game 1.

98.5 The Sports Hub is the only local station to listen to every game of the Stanley Cup Finals. Coverage begins an hour before each game with the Bruins Pregame show hosted by Dave Goucher & Bob Beers.
