Patriots QB Tom Brady Holds His Annual Best Buddies Football Challenge

BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots quarterback Tom Brady spent his Friday night over at Harvard's football field in Allston.

Tom Brady's football challenge kicks off his Best Buddies Weekend charity event. Mayor Menino was on hand, as well as former Pats star Teddy Bruschi.

It's all in support of the Best Buddies program, which helps people with developmental disabilities. Tom says he got involved with the program when he first got to New England.

WBZ-TV Sports Steve Burton reports

"It's just a great national cause that affects the lives of so many people and it's really a pleasure for me to come out and support it," said Brady.

The highlight of the weekend is a 20-mile bike ride on Saturday.
