B's New Nightmare? Meet The Vancouver "Green Men"

BOSTON (CBS) – Vancouver fans are very aware of their presence at games, as are opposing players that find themselves in the penalty box.

Pretty soon, so will the Boston Bruins.

They are the Vancouver "Green Men," simply known as Sully and Force. Although they are unofficially connected with the Canucks, their antics have been well documented throughout the 2011 NHL season.

Hand stands, tossing waffles, and some rhythmic dancing, they do it all. They even put a Canucks jersey on a cardboard cutout of Carrie Underwood when her husband, Nashville Predator's Mike Fisher, found himself in the sin bin.

"I just wreak havoc, and I'm an agitator. That's what I do," Sully told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Diane Stern.

It's all in good fun, trying to psyche out the opposing players when they do something wrong on the ice.

"That's the whole point of it," Sully said of causing distractions. "It's for an entertainment kind of basis for fans in the building and the people watching at home. People really enjoy it and they get behind it. For the most part we're doing what we can to help the hometown club get the W."

The NHL has actually asked the duo to not touch the glass, or even do handstands, but Sully finds their request a little hypocritical.

"Every time we do something, it's the number one video on NHL.com," he said. "So I'm not quite sure what the message is here"

As much fun as they have in their green spandex body suits, which goes from head to toe, it makes it awfully difficult to watch the game.

"To be honest, when you're paying that much money for tickets and you can't see the game, it's really kind of not worth it," he said. "But we're at the point where there is no turning back."

And then there is the smell. In typical playoff fashion, the two Green Men have not washed their suits since the season started. Mix that with a charity McDonalds event, and Sully finds himself entrapped with the scent of Filet-O-Fish and Big Macs.

"They don't love it but they like the antics," he said. "They don't love it, but they respect it."

The good news for fans of the Green Men in Boston, they might be bringing their antics to the TD Garden. Sully just has one simple request.

"We're trying our best to come down to Boston. So if I could send a message out to some of the local fans down there, I would love to return to Vancouver with all my teeth if possible. That would be fantastic."
