QUINCY (CBS) – Although Memorial Day may mean barbeques and picnics for many people, for others it still means a yearly trip to the cemetery to remember loved ones lost.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports

Sam and Wendy Abraham came to the Pine Hill Cemetery in Quincy Monday to clean up several family grave sites.

They said when they were children they were taught this is what you do on Memorial Day.

“My dad was a veteran. He was in World War II and Korea,” Sam told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

“So I think that it’s important that you honor their memory by coming down on Memorial Day and making their eternal resting place look good. For all they did for us, I think it’s the least we can do.”
