Pedestrian Killed On Highway In Swansea

SWANSEA (CBS) – A woman was killed while she was walking on a highway in Swansea early Sunday morning.

State Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Chrisie Wallace of Fall River.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Doug Cope reports.

Police said they don’t know why Wallace was on the highway when she was struck on Route 195 Eastbound just past Exit 2 in Swansea early Sunday morning.

The woman was hit by a car driven by 48-year-old Julian Juan of New Bedford, who had called to report he had struck something in the right travel lane, and had pulled over to wait for a trooper.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
