Man Dies In Apparent Suicide Involving Poisonous Gas In Watertown

WATERTOWN (CBS) - A man's body was found dead in a car in Watertown after an apparent suicide on Saturday night.

People walking a dog noticed the man's body in the car on Arsenal Street and alerted authorities.

WBZ-TV's Jim Smith reports.

Police found the man's body along with a note that said "Poison gas H2S, one breath kills, get hazmat team." H2S, also known as hydrogen sulfide, is a highly poisonous substance.

The highly toxic hydrogen sulfide gas can be mixed by blending certain common household ingredients. It was used in a wave of suicides in 2008.
