3 Children Get Stuck 40 Feet Up On Canton Carnvial Ride

CANTON (CBS) – Three children were stuck on a ride about 40 feet in the air at a carnival at Trinity Episcopal Church in Canton on Sunday.

The children were stuck for over an hour beginning sometime after 5 p.m. Fire officials went up with a ladder and spoke to children to let them know they were going to be OK, and the ride was then lowered by ropes and the children were able to get off.

One child was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The ride, called a rocket ride, was no longer operating after the incident and appeared to have malfunctioned, fire officials said.

The Department of Public Safety was notified and will determine if an investigation is needed.
