CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire jury has found a man guilty of forcibly raping his children’s 15-year-old babysitter nearly 14 years ago.

The case involving 52-year-old Ernest Willis of Gilford has garnered national attention because the fundamentalist Baptist church he and the girl both belonged to made her apologize to the congregation. The pastor then helped shipped the girl out-of-state to live with a Baptist couple she didn’t know and put her baby up for adoption. Concord police did not locate her until last year.

Before trial, Willis pleaded guilty to one count of statutory rape but denied he forcibly raped the girl on two occasions.

Many teen girls are raped / molested / coerced into having sex by older men. Only way to stop it is have these girls speak up and go after these men. If they did it to one young girl, they WILL do it to another.

they will do it to another…I wonder how many times he’s done it since!

No point in writing what I want – you’d have to pull it.

His bogus hell is too good for him.

That’s just disgusting… that poor girl!!!

this sounds like something out of the 1920’s or 30’s, certainly not something as recently as 14 years ago. Yes, I wonder how many other girls he’s molested since he raped her. The Baptist church involved in the cover-up is as bad if not worse than the the rapist. I hope the girl sues the church for every penny she can get.

I am appauled that the church made the girl appologize. She was the victime here. I hope both the father of the children she babysat for and the church are convicted of charges.

It’s sad to say but he may have molested/raped his own children as welll and they’re just too afraid or ashamed to speak up about it….
The law officials shoudl look into what they can do as far as pressing charges agains the clergy, management whomever was involved in knowing about this and not alerting the authorities (and instead blaming the victim and shipping her away). They disgust just as much as the rapist does.
