WALPOLE, N.H. (CBS) — A New Hampshire man stumbled on a relative’s old obituary and found some surprising results.
Daniel Schwenk was doing some research on his computer when an old obituary for his great uncle surfaced. Schwenk immediately noticed some inaccuracies in the New York Times article.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Karen Twomey reports.
So even though it was published in 1889, he wrote a quick note pointing out the errors.
Schwenk says he never thought he’d get a response and was shocked when a reporter called asking for details so the paper could correct the errors.
Schwenk says it’s nice to know the facts have been straightened out, and he says he’s found some relatives he didn’t even know he had.
