Law Student Found Dead In Suspicious Scituate Fire

SCITUATE (CBS) – A law student was found dead in a suspicious fire in Scituate late Monday night.

WBZ-TV's Sera Congi reports

It started around 10:30 p.m. in an apartment above a law office at the Bound Brook Court plaza.

It was quickly brought under control, but a 28-year-old man was found dead in the apartment.

"The body of a deceased male was found in the bathroom area of the residence.  The identity of the deceased male is being confirmed by investigators and will not be released until notification to the next of kin," Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said in a statement Tuesday.

It appears the fire started in the living room, but there's no word yet on a cause.

Neighbors said they heard explosions at one point, but firefighters have not confirmed any that.

"An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of the death. No further information is being released at this time," Cruz said.
