BOSTON (CBS) — The mother of a little boy whose body was found alongside a road in Maine is now charged with murdering him.

Julianne McCrery, 42, of Irving, Texas, was arrested in Massachusetts Wednesday night on a fugitive of justice charge. That charge stems from a warrant New Hampshire police issued charging McCrery with second-degree murder of her son, Camden Pierce Hughes.

May you rot in hell! Do you know that you could have dropped him off to a church, fire, or police station? They would send him to parents that can’t have kids? Nothing can change what you did, but may you always be reminded of his laugh, his hugs, and smiles. I hope they haunt you until the day you die!

    1. Pamela says:

Thats what I feel every one keeps saying kill her…I say let her live with the pain! Dont let her out so easy! After all that! I couldn’t even imagen living if I lost one of my children and SHE TOOK HER OWN CHILDS LIFE and live with that fact!?! I couldn’t have said it better myself!

    2. Jessica SCHRONCE says:

      Agree 100%…….

  2. SusieQ says:

ummm yeah cough syrup overdose caused asphyxiation? This story doesn’t add up, if it was an accidental od why not dial 911? Even with mental health problems she knew it was wrong and if she was going to actually harm herself it seems like she would have in the 5 days she was travelling. I hear an insanity defense, hope it doesn’t work, that poor little boy! Moving a dead body is illegal and across state lines is a serious offense, hope they throw the book at her.

    1. Kerry Woods-Relf says:

Asphyxiation due to overdose is actually a fairly common cause of death. All that’s required is a little reflux and the victims choke to death. however, that doesn’t exonerate her in his death. It is entirely her fault for administering the overdose and it’s possible that she meant to kill him.

      1. Brian Slaunwhite says:

Your correct, how ever with the good laws in the US I am sure she will spent the rest of her life in prison. May he RIP.

      2. Sharon Procino says:

It’s so sad that he died in the hands of someone he loved and trusted , his own mother . Only God can judge her now . RIP little one , you will never be forgotten ….

    2. Carrie says:

She may have given him the cough syrup to make him fall asleep so there would be no struggle during the asphyxiation. Only God knows why she did it, no matter how much we speculate, and God and her conscience will be her ultimate judges.

  3. Gail Hagr says:

How sad that this beautiful little boys life had to end in such a terrible way. God bless his little soul. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones !!!!

  4. Lisa Vibert - Furr says:

  5. Pamela says:

Even though he is in Heaven, I feel everyone should still pray for him having to know what his Mommy did to him!No kid should EVER have to feel that way! Poor Baby I hope God shelters him from the truth but for his Mother as said before…DEAL WITH IT FOREVER!

  6. emom says:

Looking at the photo of her above……… Its like looking into an empty shell… Its like you can see thru her ,,, no emotions at all… you would think there would be puffy eyes from crying…. no all I see is a dark cavern of emptiness….. wait could that be HELL….

    1. Nicole says:

This is an old photo from a previous arrest.

    2. Renee says:

emom, I’m surprised you think that. I think she looks hopeless, and filled with nothing but despair. Maybe we see what we want to see.
Actually, this picture is a mugshot from a previous arrest, not yesterday.

  7. Eishan Shalimari says:

    it is really shocking

  8. Kay says:

People should have to prove they’re worthy of being a parent, including regular psychological evaluations. We have certifications for everything under the sun in this country but not how to treat and raise a child. Why is that? It’s way too easy to have a kid, when it should be considered a privilege. So messed up. I bet the signs were on the wall she’d do something like this and it could have been prevented. So sad. What a beautiful little boy. He must have been terrified!

    1. Nicole says:

People with mental health issues can have a child without this being the end result. Often, too, people who seem like totally normal and devoted parents end up in this position. You can’t assume who is and isn’t going to be a good or safe parent.

    2. Love Mother that shouldn't have to "apply" to give birth says:

Yes, let’s take away everyone’s freedom because of the few that do this type of thing. Sounds an awful lot like Big Brother and definitely not the answer.

  9. Stephanie says:

i say lock her up in an all female prison and let them beat her every single day to where she is close to death then stop and let her recover then keep doing it for the rest of her pathetic life! i hope she gets whats coming to her! how dare she take the life of her own flesh and blood! when i heard about it it made me sick to my stomach as it would any parent. if he was too much for her why didnt she give him to the police and ask them to take him they would have given him to dss and he would be given a loving home and to people who deserve to have children! she is no parent and has no understanding the meaning of being a mother!!!!!!!! i hope she gets DENIED of going to heaven for taking an innocent child’s life like that!!!!!!

    1. sherry says:

I was just saying this to a friend this morning. she deserves to beat every day for the rest of her life to be remided of how hanus this is. i was unable to have my own but love children very much and would have given my right arm and leg for a beautiful little boy like Camden.

  10. ariana says:

This story is so heart-breaking. Why have children if you’re only gonna harm them? Children are innocent. And it seeMs as though nowadays its parents who are the predators, the ones who they “think” love them & would never do such a child should be burried before their parents aree. He was such a beautiful little boy* and seemed so happy. Ppl tend to go after the helpless ones, children who can’t even defend themselves. so sad… I say she deserves a life-sentence, why give her the easy way out.

  11. Glenn says:

I pray for that precious little angel. As for the mother, I pray for her as well.

  12. Adina Klomsa says:

I hope shell burn in hell! RIP little angel.. make sure ur moma gets hunted for life!!

  13. Becky says:

I have 2 young children… if it was accidental.. she would not have dumped his body. It’s completely sick! This little boy deserved better.. so innocent. there are so many people out there that would have done anything to have this child!! She will pay- I have no doubt. What comes around, goes around – threefold!

  14. Lisa C says:

I’m sure God isn’t pleased with the mom, but he surely isn’t pleased with the majority of comments left here either. Let us pray for a speedy trip to heaven for little Camden and for God’s grace to help all involved in this child’s life.

    1. Willow says:

Lisa C, I agree with you. We know that little ones always rest in the arms of Jesus, but we need to pray for his family. Not knowing all the facts, I think condemning the mother at this point is wrong. When all the facts are in, the truth will be known and justice will pravail. I’m sure if found guilty, this mother will suffer for her act.

      1. sherry says:

        as she should

    2. Jackie Greenleaf says:

Agreed, Lisa, this was horrendous, but these comments here are totally cruel. More prayer and less accusation is in order. You can tell she loved the precious boy. Something snapped. God help everyone.

  15. Peter says:

Wait, we need a license to drive, a license to own a gun and a license for marriage, but not a license to have children? What is wrong with this country?

    1. Paula says:

a license to drive does not prevent anyone from vehicular homicide , a license to own a gun does not prevent anyone from shooting someone to death and a marriage license does not prevent spousal homicide, so what would a license to have a child prevented??

  16. Isa says:

I agree with Peter. I have always felt that way…What makes me mad is that There are people(me) that can’t or have a hard time having children…whats wrong with people treating children this way

    1. Melissa B says:

I do not agree about the who license to have a child it would not stop anything from happening to a child if the parent is that sick and can hide it. Plus now a days there is meds for people that need it that really do help. Honestly if I needed to get a license i might not have my 2 beautiful kids that I have. I would give up my life for my kids. I think what we need to do is just watch and if you think something is going on with someone or you see something then you need to report it to the police and your local CPS/DSS office.

  17. Lady P says:

Such a tragedy, sadness compounded by hatred. Even as the Lord was crucified he said “forgive them for they know not what they do”. Perhaps instead of allowing this mother and her free will to create conflict within you thus feeling the need to write hateful comments… perhaps we should practice the most important commandment of God, Love one another. We do not have to respect this mother for her free will choice but we do need to respect the life God gave her and to her sons. Food for thought… all these hateful thoughts may one day be read by her still living son and her family that was NOT part of this tragedy, how will you feel then?

    1. Willow says:

      Amen, Lady P!

    2. km says:

Im sorry but i do not agree, And i am one of the most sympathetic and caring people out there. But she killed her son, there is no validating that. And im sure the rest of her family is horrified at what she did,if they are not there is something very wrong there. and it could have been the rest of them if she is not punished.People like this do not deserve sympathy and deserve everything they have coming. Karma can be very ugly and i hope it is severely ugly to her. Most people would die before they let anything happen to their child. Now this poor little child had to pay the ultimate price, i believe no one has the right to take a life free will or not, and to take your own childs life is sickening. Both myself and my spouse had tears in our eyes when we first heard this story.Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but i do not agree lady p.

  18. Paula says:

I too cannot imagine harming a child , said the woman in a sane frame of mind …….I’m glad Camden can’t read these posts. I bet he loves/d his mom and is looking down praying for her now.

  19. Kendra says:

It is my firm belief that God will issue her the final justice when the time comes. We can sit here and debate it but honestly, God gets them all in one way or another!

  20. Heidi says:

there are many of us out there who are unable to have our own children and would be thrilled to have and opportunity to adopt children like camden. For those who can’t care for their children, please get help for them and yourselves. I have three beautiful adopted children and my life would never be the same without them. If it saves a child’s life, I would gladly take more.
