Law & Order's Sam Waterston Honored By Old Sturbridge Village

STURBRIDGE (AP) - Academy Award-nominated actor Sam Waterston is being honored with a lifetime achievement award from Old Sturbridge Village and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.

Waterston is scheduled to receive the award from Burns during a ceremony at the museum on Tuesday.

Waterston was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of journalist Sydney Schanberg in the 1984 movie "The Killing Fields," about the murderous regime of Pol Pot in Cambodia.

He also played District Attorney Jack McCoy on the "Law and Order" television series.

Burns is known for his award-winning documentaries, including "The Civil War" and "Baseball." He made his first film at Old Sturbridge Village as a college student in 1975.

Old Sturbridge Village is a living history museum where actors portray life in a working farm village in the 1830s.
