WOBURN (AP) – Prosecutors and defense lawyers are expected to give starkly different accounts of a fight between the brother and father of Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan.

Opening statements to the jury at Mark Kerrigan‘s manslaughter trial are scheduled Monday in Woburn Superior Court.

Prosecutors allege that 70-year-old Daniel Kerrigan died of cardiac dysrhythmia — a loss or interruption of a normal heartbeat that can lead to cardiac arrest — after a violent physical struggle with his son, Mark Kerrigan, in January 2010.

Nancy Kerrigan and her family have supported Mark Kerrigan. They’ve said Daniel Kerrigan died of a longstanding heart condition, not because of the fight with his son.

The trial is expected to last about a week.

If he is responsible for his Fathers death why wern’t the Police held responsible for the death of the student that died from the same cause after a simular incident in the Fenway after the Celtics playoff game? Incidently one of the same Police men that was involved in this death was later filmed beating a teenager at Roxbury Comunity College. Should someone be looking at whether he is fit to be a Cop?
