Nancy Kerrigan On Mark's Trial: 'I Love My Brother'

WOBURN (CBS/AP) -- Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan expressed support for her brother as his manslaughter trial was about to begin.

WBZ-TV's Diana Perez reports

Kerrigan said "I love my brother" as she entered Middlesex Superior Court on Friday where jury selection got under way.

Mark Kerrigan is charged in the 2010 death of their 70-year-old father, Daniel Kerrigan.

Prosecutors say Daniel Kerrigan died of cardiac dysrhythmia -- a loss or interruption of a normal heartbeat that can lead to cardiac arrest -- after a fight with his son.

Nancy Kerrigan and other family members have long publicly supported Mark. They say the elder Kerrigan died of a longstanding heart condition.

Nancy Kerrigan is expected to be called as a witness.

On Friday a jury was seated. Seven men and seven women were chosen. Opening statements are expected Monday.
