Investigators want to know why so much trash with personal information has been dumped off South Union Street.

"There's an alley way in the city, one strewn with car parts, with municipal trash, tires, mattresses and then, what was most shocking of all, was all of the personal documents, personal files, business files," city councilor Marc Laplante told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Thursday.

Blank checks, payroll statements, and 401k information were also found in the mess.

Laplante said he picked up a medical file that contained documents issued by a training school.

Some of the trash has been traced to an asbestos removal service that has apparently closed.

Laplante said if they don't catch who's responsible for the dumping, the city will have to pay for the cleanup.
