BOSTON (CBS) — Gia and Destiny are loving sisters of Caucasian and Puerto Rican descent who share a special bond with each other, as well as with an older sister. Gia and Destiny mainly speak English but also know some Spanish. These pleasant, intelligent and engaging sisters are seeking an adoptive home where they will feel safe and secure and have the stability to flourish.

WBZ-TV’s Jack Willams reports

Always happy and smiling, Giavanna or Gia is an outgoing, sociable and funny 6-year-old. Gia enjoys playing with her dolls, dancing, singing, playing dress-up, and getting her hair done. Gia benefits from the supports of an Individualized Education Plan, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Gia’s teacher reports that she is making tremendous improvement with all of this support. When she grows up, Gia says that she would like to be a fire fighter.

Destiny is a 9-year-old young girl who is very personable, sweet and insightful. She can be shy when you first meet her but once she feels comfortable she likes to be challenged and is always eager to learn. Destiny enjoys singing, reading, dancing, and taking care of animals. One of her biggest strengths is academics. Destiny says that when she grows up she wants to attend Harvard University and become a veterinarian. Destiny benefits from weekly therapy. At times she can struggle maintaining friendships with peers as she often wants to be the leader.

The ideal family for Gia and Destiny would be a two-parent home of a mom and a dad or two moms, who is open to maintaining contact with their older sister. If there were other children in the home they would do best with older siblings. Legally free for adoption, Gia and Destiny will continue to thrive with positive reinforcement in a consistent and structured environment.
