Jenny Craig Top Diet In Consumer Reports Ratings

BOSTON (CBS) – For the third time Consumer Reports has rated weight loss programs and each time they have a different winner.

This time it’s Jenny Craig.

Nancy Metcalf at Consumer Reports told CBS Radio the pre-packaged food of Jenny Craig beats out the point-counting system of Weight Watchers by quite a bit.

“It’s the winning diet because it had top score on nutrition. It also had a top score on weight loss and, particularly, it did very well in people staying in the diet and not dropping out,” Metcalf said.

The last time Consumer Reports rated diets four years ago, Volumetrics won. It’s now part of Jenny Craig.

The Atkins diet finished last again, as it has in the previous two surveys.

    Jenny is great, but once you are off the food you are doomed. They do not teach you to eat.

    At the end of the program they do slowly teach you how to eat on your own and have a maintenance program to monitor your weight as you learn
