Ex-Lynn Rink Manager Pleads Not Guilty To Child Porn Charges

LYNN (AP) - The former manager of a Lynn ice skating rink has pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges.

Jared Surette was released on $1,000 bail and ordered not to use a computer or have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 at his arraignment Tuesday in Lynn District Court. He faces charges including distributing material of a child in a sexual act.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Doug Cope reports.

The Essex district attorney's office said the 26-year-old Surette was arrested at his home on Friday.

Surette managed the state-owned, but privately-managed Connery Rink in Lynn. Rink management said Surette resigned over the weekend.

Surette's lawyer said after court that his client has no criminal record and the "charges just aren't true." He says his client is the victim of a virus from a music file-sharing program.
