Fitchburg Student Dies After Asthma Attack
FITCHBURG (CBS) - A middle school student from Fitchburg died last week after a severe asthma attack.
Ten-year-old Cassidy Ramos was sent home from school last week after having breathing trouble at the Fitchburg Arts Academy. She later collapsed at home, stopped breathing and was rushed to the hospital, where she died.

For students who knew the young girl, it's a difficult situation, and counselors have been brought in for students and teachers trying to cope with the loss.
Fitchburg school superintendent Andre Ravenelle said counseling will be available going forward as the reality of the loss sets in.
Despite her asthma, Cassidy was described as vibrant and active and had even recently taken up cheerleading.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning. Many students and teachers are expected to attend.
