$5,000 Reward Offered In Mendon Homemade Bomb Case

MENDON (CBS) - Arson investigators are offering a $5,000 reward for anyone with information on the suspects who tossed small homemade explosives into the parking lot of a Mendon business and the driveway of a home.

Friday night around 11:30, a worker at Alicante restaurant saw someone in a gold-colored Honda Accord drive by and throw a device out the window.

That worker picked it up and threw it into a dumpster.

Police say he's lucky he wasn't hurt, because as he was walking away, it exploded.

The blast was powerful enough that it could have caused serious burns.

Police say another one of these devices went off a short time later at a home about a half-mile away.

They are searching the town, but so far, no other devices have turned up.
