Bruins Eye Game 3 As 'Just Another Game'

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins have a 2-0 lead over the Philadelphia Flyers, but they know nothing has been decided in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

"We've put ourselves in a good spot but we know the playoffs, anything can happen," forward Brad Marchand said after Wednesday's skate. "We've been through it before in last series and last year. We have to make sure we don't take it easy and sit back, we have to keep going."

Marchand has been one of the Bruins biggest contributors thus far in the series, tallying two goals and an assist in Boston's Game 1 7-3 win and adding another goal in their 3-2 OT win in Game 2.

But even though they are two wins away from sending Philly home, Boston is just focusing on the Game 3.

"I think we've done a really good job this year keeping an even keel whether we win or lose," forward Shawn Thornton said. "All season it's never been up high or down too low."

"We were in the same boat last series and we came back and won," forward Michael Ryder said. "We know it can happen, we can't take it for granted. We just have to make sure we go out tonight and work just as hard. Go out and get that win."

The experience from the Bruins seven game series with the Montreal Canadiens, where they came back after trailing 2-0, will go a long way for them as they try and close out the Flyers.

"I think it's big for both sides of the equation," said Marchand. "We know that any team can come back from a 2-0 deficit. At the same time, we have to keep pushing forward. It's great that we were able to go through that adversity and it's definitely benefited us."

Shawn Thornton Pre Game 3 vs Flyers

The Bruins fell behind 2-0 in Game 2 after the Flyers scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game. With Philly now more desperate for a win, they are expecting an even stronger push to start the game.

But the Flyers are not the only ones who should be desperate.

"Both teams should be desperate," said Thornton. "It's playoffs, every game, every shift, everything is desperate this time of the year. I expect them to come out as hard as possible and I expect us to do the same."

"It's just another game," added Thornton. "It doesn't matter what the record is, the momentum and that stuff. It's just another game. We'll have to come out like it's Game 1."
