Kerry: U.S. Can't Leave Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) – Sen. John Kerry says even though Osama bin Laden is dead, the U.S. can't just "pack up and leave Afghanistan."

Kerry, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, made his comments at a committee hearing Tuesday.

Kerry said the critical question is how will peace be achieved.

WBZ-TV's Paula Ebben reports

The U.S. has more than 100,000 troops in Afghanistan and will be drawing down some in July, with President Barack Obama to decide on how many.

Kerry said he will be traveling to Afghanistan in two weeks.
