Dozens Of Soldiers Return To N.H. After Deployment In Iraq

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- An emotional welcome home in New Hampshire Tuesday: the soldiers with the 94th Military Police Company returned safely home to their families after one year in Iraq.

Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons waited for the police escorted buses to pull in, and then they sat through a ceremony before then could go running into their loved ones' arms.

Lt. Norm Vincent's wife and three children rushed to see him. Lt. Vincent said, "To know I'm home now and have them in my arms is the way it should be. I'm overwhelmed with excitement."

WBZ-TV's Karen Anderson reports.

His son said, "I like Daddy being home... it's really fun being with him."

Elisabeth Fraser was crying and shaking as she ran to embrace her husband, Sgt. Mark Fraser. "To be back together with him, it's awesome," she said.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Bernice Corpuz reports.

The 94th's mission was to train the Iraqi police so they can protect their own. Sgt. Fraser explained, "We were there to assist the Iraqi police and make sure they were doing the right thing so we can leave Iraq without any US soldiers in there."

The 94th Military Police Company helped to train nearly 50,000 Iraqi police officers. They also helped to train the first SWAT team ever in Iraq.
