MILLIS (CBS) – While most people ‘party till dawn,’ some were partying AT dawn this morning. Many Royal Wedding watchers woke up in the wee hours to catch the big event live on television at parties all across the region.

“Why not get together, because we were all going to be home in our pajamas anyway,” said Loring Barnes of Millis. She invited 30 of her friends over at 5 a.m. for an early morning bash.

WBZ-TV’s Sera Congi reports.

“Every girl has the inner princess in her,” said Loring, as she rolled up her long white gloves. “We all knew we would be watching so this is a jolly ole good time to get together to have fantastic food, with fantastic friends and family.”

The guests spared no detail, wearing hats with bows, feathers and flowers while others wore princess tiaras with veils.

“I’m here with my mom,” said one party goer. “She listened to wedding of Queen Elizabeth when she was young, so it’s important for us to be together.”

The group watched the royal events unfold on three large televisions. And the most highly anticipated moment was of course, the bride’s dress.

“Awwwwww,” they collectively sighed. “She looks amazing.”

And like many of these viewing parties, this crowd in Millis was made up of all women. The only man in the house, the husband of the hostess, made a quick exit early on.

“I think they’re crazy!” said Michael Edmonds. “That’s why I’m leaving quickly.”

I stayed up to watch the Wedding but Turner Classic Movies had a movie about Giant Killer Ants that were hiding in the sewers in L.A…… I watched that instead.
