Obama Heading Back To Boston For Fundraiser

BOSTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is heading back to Boston for another political fundraiser.

A Democratic official with knowledge of the event told The Associated Press that the fundraiser is planned for May 18 at the Boston Center for the Arts in the city's South End neighborhood. The official requested anonymity because a formal announcement had not yet been made.

It's the second time this year the Democratic president has made a trip to Boston.

In March, Obama visited TechBoston, a pilot school in Boston, before attending a gala fundraiser at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Obama is hoping to build up his campaign account ahead of his reelection bid next year.

Massachusetts is considered a Democratic stronghold. Gov. Deval Patrick is a friend of the president and one of his strongest political supporters.
