Infant Seriously Injured In 21-Foot Fall From Auburn Hotel Window

AUBURN (CBS) – Police in Auburn are investigating after a 10-month-old boy fell 21 feet from a third-floor motel window on Friday.

The child, Davrael Sorrell, fell out a window at the Comfort Inn and landed onto a concrete slab.

He was listed in serious condition at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

Detectives say it appears the boy’s mother, Shanice Ashmore of Worcester, was holding him while he stood on the window sill watching a truck in a nearby parking lot.

At some point, the boy leaned forward against the screen and it gave way.

No word on whether any charges were expected to be filed.
