Investigators say 41-year-old Trooper Michael Isom was inside his cruiser at a road construction detail when a woman driving a Land Rover Discovery slammed into the back of it.

The force of the crash spun the cruiser around.

Isom was hurt, but managed to call for help.  Isom was released  from the hospital Friday evening.  According to State Police, he would likely remain on injured leave while he continued his recuperation at home.

The Land Rover driver, 47-year-old Leslie Minasian of East Bridgewater, was treated at Norwood Hospital and released.

She's charged with OUI second offense, marked lanes violation, failure to yeild to an emergency vehicle and neglient operation.

She was arraigned Friday afternoon in Quincy District Court after which she was set free on $6,500 cash bail.

Since last summer, 12 state troopers have been hurt in similar accidents.
