BOSTON (CBS) – It looks like Shaquille O’Neal is done for the Celtics this season, according to a published report.

The Eagle Tribune’s Bill Burt is reporting an NBA source told him Shaq will not return to the Celtics this postseason due to a lingering calf injury.

The report says O’Neal could not complete a sprint up and down the court during a conditioning test over the weekend.

The source says the Celtics are planning on moving forward with Jermaine O’Neal and Nenad Krstic as their centers.

O’Neal averaged 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 37 regular season games for the Celtics, and was seen as a major part of their quest for the franchise’s 18th NBA Championship.
