Spring Mosquito Population Expected To Thrive In Mass & NH

NORTH HAMPTON, NH (CBS) – With the mosquito population expected to flourish this year in New England, crews have already begun spraying in southern New Hampshire.

So far, water samples taken from southern New Hampshire wetlands show a high larvae count.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Bernice Corpuz reports

Sarah McGregor, the owner of Dragon Mosquito Control there’s a lot of standing water left over because this past winter was so snowy.

“It’s too early to predict what the summer will be like, said McGregor. “But I think we’re going to have a buggy spring.”

You can help reduce the mosquito population by getting rid of any standing water in your own backyard.
