Boston Police Looking For Car That Hit Boy In Mattapan

BOSTON (CBS) — Boston police are looking for the car that hit and injured a 6-year-old boy in Mattapan Monday night.

Neighbors say the boy was hit so hard that he flipped into the air and the driver must have known he hit something.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports.

It happened on Delhi Street. Police say the boy was crossing the street when it happened.

“The car hit the kid, knocked him up in the air and the car just took off,” said neighbor Shirley Williams.

WBZ-TV’s Jim Smith reports.

The boy was taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The car for which police are looking is described as a maroon Mitsubishi with a gray or tan top.
