Source: Red Sox, Buchholz Agree On 4-Year, $30.5M Deal
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox and starting pitcher Clay Buchholz have agreed on a four-year, $30.5 million contract, a source confirmed with WBZ-TV's Dan Roche.
With the contract, which begins ahead of the 2012 season, the Red Sox will essentially be buying out the three remaining years of arbitration and the first year of free agency. The deal also reportedly includes two club options.
Buchholz, who is 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA so far this season, is set to make $555,000 in 2011.
Last season, the Sox righty blossomed, finishing 17-7 with a 2.33 ERA.
