Lynn Police: Man Shot By Officers Expected To Survive

LYNN (CBS) - Police said a man they shot early Sunday morning outside a Lynn home is expected to survive.

Police initially responded to a 911 call at the home on Linwood Street for a man threatening to kill himself. When officers arrived on the scene, they said they were confronted by 25-year-old Mathieu Michaud, who was carrying three knives and a gun.

After identifying themselves and ordering Michaud to drop his weapons, police shot him once. He was then transported to Mass. General Hospital and underwent surgery.

Police said the officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
