Manchester, N.H. Police Looking For Woman Who Threw Hammer At Driver

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- 18-year-old Megan Robicheau says she never meant to cut someone off on the road Thursday night, and she never expected what would come next.

WBZ-TV's Alana Gomez reports

Robicheau was traveling westbound on Queen City Avenue in Manchester, N.H. She says she cut off a driver who followed her into a 7/11 parking lot. That's when a passenger from the car approached her.

"She came right to my window, she said she had just been in a fight at a club that night," said Robicheau.

Robicheau said she tried to apologize to the woman, but when that didn't satisfy her she rolled up her window. The woman reportedly continued to yell at Robicheau from her car. Robicheau says she then flipped her off and that's when the woman reached for something in her backseat.

"I was thinking I had no idea what she was going to grab; if she was going to grab a bat or weapon of any kind," said Robicheau.

The woman grabbed a hammer and hurled it through Robicheau's driver's side window. Glass shattered onto her and the hammer hit her in the torso as she turned to protect her face.

"Because I turned I got hit in my side, but if I went this way it would've gone straight to my head," said Robicheau.

The woman then jumped back in the car before she and the driver sped off.

Manchester, N.H. police say they have witness accounts and are looking through surveillance video from the convenience store. They describe the suspect as a white woman with blonde hair, between 5'7" and 5'9", with tattoos on her arms. She and the driver were in a red, four-door car that was missing a front bumper.

Police want anyone with additional information to give them a call at 603-668-8711.
