Red Sox Announce Details Of Opening Day Ceremonies

BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox have announced most of the details of Friday's opening day ceremonies.

●  National Anthem: The United States Navy Band will perform the National Anthem.

●  Flyover: The flyover will be performed by four F-16 fighter jets from the Vermont Air National Guard. The "Green Mountain Boys" will perform the flyover at the conclusion of the National Anthem.

●  Moments of Silence: Two separate moments of silence will be held prior to the game. The first is in honor of the victims from the recent tragic events in Japan and the other will be in memory of Red Sox Hall of Famer, James "Lou" Gorman.

●  Playing of Taps: The playing of Taps will be performed by a United States Navy Band Trumpet Player in honor of the passing of James "Lou" Gorman.

The Red Sox have not yet reavealed who will sing the national anthem.

The team is requesting that fans take their seats by 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon to enjoy the Opening Day pre-game ceremonies.
