Andover Teacher Uses Marathon Training As A Lesson For Class
ANDOVER (CBS) - An Andover Physical Ed teacher is keeping her kids moving with some creative motivation.
Beth Shiff is bringing the Boston Marathon right into the gym.
WBZ-TV's Diana Perez reports
Shiff is training for her third run of the race. Each time, she has involved her students at High Plain Elementary.
Shiff sets up running competitions and teaches patience and perseverance. She hopes it's a lesson her kids will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
"I think Mrs. Shiff is my inspiration because she does so well with teaching us how to pace ourselves and take our time," says fifth grader, Julia Carzo.
Beth shiff says during her last marathon some of her kids surprised her by making a banner and waiting for her at Heartbreat Hill.
She says she's hoping that they'll do the same thing this year!
