Vote To Be Held Thursday For More Mixed Drinks At Fenway
BOSTON (CBS) - It looks like mixed drinks will be on the menu at Fenway Park this year.
For now, you can get hard liquor at some of Fenway's suites, but the new proposal would allow the sale of hard liquor to fans at five different spots: the Gate E Concourse, the Gate B Concourse, the First Base Concourse, the Home Plate Deck, and the Right Field Roof.
Sales of the mixed drinks would be cut off two hours after the game started or the 7th inning. No alcoholic shots would be served.

Red Sox Sr. Vice President of Fenway Affairs Larry Cancro told the commission that the amounts of alcohol sold would be closely monitored.

"For example, rum and Coke. When you have a rum and Coke in the size we're gonna serve it, it's gonna have less alcohol in it than a 12-ounce beer," said Cancro.
There was some concern about the alcohol's proximity to the bleacher seats, but Cancro said any problems in those sections are in the past.
"The incidents rates in the bleachers in the last five years have gone down dramatically as our price structure and everything else changes. That's where the families have gravitated to in recent years," said Cancro.
The proposal has the support of Mayor Tom Menino's office, Boston police, and city councilors Michael P. Ross and Maureen Feeney.
"One more amenity they are offering the people who come to enjoy baseball, not getting drunk, baseball," said Feeney.
A vote is set for Thursday morning.
