MILFORD (CBS) – The Milford Water Company is in hot water again.

Residents were recently informed that an equipment failure and a failure to fix it led to months of elevated levels of copper and lead.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports

An anti-corrosion valve broke back in October, but the water company’s general manager Dave Condrey says it wasn’t fixed and he wasn’t informed about the problem until February.

Supposedly, an operator forgot about the problem. That person has been reprimanded.

State environmental officials are looking into the incident.

The company has also been ordered to address some chlorination issues.

Just about two years ago, the Milford Water Company had to issue a days-long water-boil order because of contamination.

Milford tap water isn’t potable. It tastes bad. It smells bad. It has *color*, and it stains the laundry. We’ve been on a commercial bottled water delivery schedule for several years.

I never knew how lucky I was when I lived in the ‘burbs and had Quabbin water.

This is such a shame – Look into simple under the sink Pre-filters. 3 little filters can remove all the things you don’t want in your water. We have one. It is much less expensive than bottle water and can be up and running in less than 30 minutes.

Another reason we are moving out of Milford..this is despicable
