Thornton Not Cleared Yet

BOSTON (CBS) - Shawn Thornton has not been medically cleared to play and will miss Thursday nights game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to the Bruins.

The Bruins forward received 40+ stitches over his right eye Tuesday night after taking the blade of Blackhawks Fernando Pisani's skate to the forehead. He practiced with the team Thursday morning with a new protective visor on his helmet, but did not receive clearance from the Bruins medical staff.

On his weekly call in to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich Thursday morning, Thornton said he felt fine but the Bruins will most likely start resting players with the playoffs approaching.
